Alumalure 2000 – For a Lifetime Finish
All Envoy gutters and downspouts have our exclusive Alumalure 2000
finish. Applied in two separate coating operations, Alumalure 2000 is baked on
to outlast the competition by years and years. Our interior gutter surfaces are
also treated with a special, corrosion-resistant coating, then clear-coated, to
withstand a lifetime of bad weather, including acid rain and other atmospheric
pollutants.
Our Alumalure 2000 finish comes in a variety of designer-selected colors to
match Alcoa aluminum soffit and trim products as the perfect complement to your
home.
Engineered to the last detail
Alcoa's lifetime product engineering applies to the smallest details
of our Envoy rain removal systems.
-
Downspouts are available in two sizes to ensure proper flow. A 2" x 3"
downspout will handle typical runoff from roofs up to 600 square feet. A 3" x
4" downspout will carry the runoff from a 1,200-square-foot roof.
-
Expansion joints are engineered to provide for expansion and contraction in
longer runs of gutter and hip-roof installations - an advantage not available
in continuous or "seamless" gutter.
-
Corner pieces provide an attractive, finished look for inside or outside
miters.
-
End caps and eave tubes are precision engineered for a more secure seal.
-
Clips and anchors secure downspouts, while allowing the tubing to expand and
contract freely. These fasteners are uniquely designed for eye appeal, as
opposed to the unsightly aluminum downspout straps used with "seamless" gutter
systems.
Envoy– For Larger Roofs and Commercial Buildings
Large or steeply pitched roofs, homes in rainy climates and many apartment and
commercial buildings require higher-capacity gutters. On many larger homes six-inch gutter simply looks better.
That's why Alcoa offers Envoy, a six-inch gutter system that handles
substantially greater volumes of water than standard five-inch. And, of course,
Envoy uses the same free-floating hanger design as our standard system.
Envoy Lifetime System vs. Seamless Gutters
So-called "seamless" gutters aren't seamless at all. They are formed
on site, to size, from a continuous roll of aluminum - but everywhere it turns
a corner, there are seams. Seamless gutters offer a modest initial cost. But
the first time you have to replace it, seamless becomes a lot more expensive
than our Envoy Lifetime System. And the truth is, seamless gutters need to be
replaced every few years. Here's why:
-
Seamless gutters are attached with spikes driven through ferrules (tubes)
horizontally into the fascia of the house. These spikes eventually loosen as
the gutter expands and contracts due to temperature changes. It then begins to
sag under the weight of rain, ice and snow.
-
As the spikes work back and forth, the holes they make in the fascia become
enlarged, allowing backed-up water or snow-melt to seep into the eaves,
eventually causing structural damage to the house. The heads begin to protrude
from the gutter, which is unsightly and allows the gutter to pull away from the
fascia.
-
If the gutter backs up, water seeps into the house, because the front lip of
"seamless" gutter is level with the back.
-
Changing temperatures and the weight of water, ice and snow cause "seamless"
gutter to work loose. The gutter eventually sags and falls off, often damaging
the house and its landscaping.
Alcoa's Envoy Rain Removal System is designed to overcome the problems of
seamless gutter...designed so well, it's guaranteed to perform as long as you
own your home.
Why does it work? The free-floating hangers allow the gutter to slide back and
forth as it expands and contracts, eliminating stress on the nails. And our
hangers are engineered to support far more weight than ordinary spikes and
ferrules, without sagging. The results? A gutter that stays put and doesn't
cause water to leak into your home. Here's how:
-
The free-floating hanger system allows gutter to slide back and forth when it
expands and contracts.
-
The lower front lip keeps any backed-up water from seeping into fascia.
-
Unique design supports at least 50 pounds per lineal foot without pulling nails
loose.
So there you have it! Alcoa 's Envoy is simply the most rugged system you can
buy.
